This course introduces you to all the features of your vehicle, and the basics of driving off-road.
We start the day with tea and coffee, followed by a short theory session. Thereafter we head out for some driving practice and an introduction to the various obstacles you will likely encounter when out 4×4’ing. The instructor will direct/assist you on each obstacle. Once you are a little more comfortable with your vehicle handling, we head off for a short trail drive.
For those of you wishing to enjoy a braai prior to departure, facilities are available.
This course introduces you to some of the equipment that is available when the inevitable happens.
We start the day with tea and coffee, followed by a short theory session to review the basics and safety aspects. This is followed by a quick ‘re-familiarisation’ drive. Then it’s time for discussions and demonstrations on some basic recovery equipment (jacks, straps, winches, etc.). Don’t worry if you don’t have any of this equipment, we do.
There are facilities available for those wishing to enjoy a braai before heading home.
Sadly, most of our driving time is spent on the road rather than off it, so we need to know how to handle it on wet roads. This course covers just that.
We start the day with tea and coffee, followed by a brief session on safety. Once that’s over with, we get to ‘grips’ with your vehicle on the wet. The skidpan allows us to simulate wet weather, aquaplaning and ultimately enable you to recognise loss of grip and how to react.
The venue has a swimming pool and kids area for the family, as well as a fast-food restaurant.
